Exercise. It clears the mind and promotes good health. Something as simple as a daily walk does wonders for your mental health.
Adopt a pet. I know it isn't always possible but it you can, do it. Studies show that owning a pet reducing a lot stress! Pets will always be there for you and love you unconditionally!
Have a support of people around you. Isolation can lead to depression, a major mental illness in this country. Not everyone has family around for that. Go out and make friends with similar interests as yourself!
For me the most important is having faith. Something to believe in, a higher being. Seeking him during difficult times gives you hope for a better tomorrow. Hope this helps

If you are parent and you tend to raise your children , it is very useful to know that we need to maintain our brains from the very their childhood. My mum told me that when i was a child she used different sums for children and some developing programs for me to be very intelligent in the future. I know that one of the best beneficial children developing things are puzzles , because if your children have a tendency to make them and they see no difficulty in making that sums, this is very great , because their intuition will be very developed in adult life.
First of all we should understand that there is no magic pill which improves memory or brain health. But we can kick start improvements ourselves by taking positive steps. Regular exercise like taking a brisk walk in the park or physical activities like gardening can nourish our brain and recharge batteries, galvanising brain power. Medical studies reveal that the fitter you are, the healthier your brain becomes. And if you flex your legs with a friend, all the better; staying socially active also polishes your thinking machine.
Memory is something that can be treated to the end of our life and that is cool i guess, because that is what we can do when we are old and have nothing to do, i have always wondered how do mature people make so much crosswords as they are supposed to remember so many words in their heads. Yeah like that.
I think that reading books is a good variant for improving our mental health, books broaden our mind, help to understand the world better and change our habitual points of view. One more good variant of improving our mental health is communication, I think. Communication with different people give us experience of being socially connected, helps to enrich our look of the world and get to know about new things. And, of course, there should be place for self-improving, I mean to do the things you like, it may be a hobby or some professional development, but these should be the things you love and enjoy doing.
Thank you for your story. It is rather serious question I think because not everyone thinks about his mental health! There is some evidence that challenges like playing a musical instrument or learning another language have more benefits than repetitive exercises like crossword puzzles. Although brain-training programs are a multi-million-dollar industry, there is no conclusive evidence that any of them improves memory or reasoning ability. We don’t know whether playing brain games is helpful. Getting together with family and friends to play cards may be as good.
