There are some ways of spending money wisely.Pony up for quality where it counts. Buy generic label groceries.Cut down on food waste.Clip coupons for special occasions.Go to the matinee. Hit up the thrift shop.If you’re feeling cash-strapped, please don’t feel like you’re alone. I understand how you feel, and I’m willing to wager the overwhelming majority of people reading this share your pain.
It depends on your age. I'm older now, so a million dollars would be nice to have to secure my old age in comfort, by investing it in easily accessible funds, but I would still have a lot remaining to support my children in buying a home or starting their own business, and I would probably give money to worthwhile charities / emergency funds.
At a very young age, you would want to invest it in some way, e.g. in a business, perhaps partly using if for the training you always wanted but could not afford, buying a home, settling down and putting money aside for your (future) family, education of children etc.
Pay all my bills, buy a car, have a small house built for myself. The same for my children and grandchildren. Next I would put some in the bank to draw interest to live on. Next, charities, abuse shelter, homeless. Don't you just wish you got a million dollars. You would not be sitting at the computer asking silly questions. You would be out shopping till you dropped. Also I would like to see the whole world and of course I would spend the biggest part of them to have a dinner in Paris, swim in a boat in Italy, and take a London Eye to see all the beauty of all wonders!
I am not a very good person, I know that. I do ot think that if I win some money, I will spend money for the charity. I want money. I try to do my best to have some, but this is too hard for me to gain the money and I want to spend money for myself. I want to have a big home and to travel. I want to buy new things. Most of all I`d like to see Canarias. Canaries (Spanish: Canarias), are a Spanish archipelago located just off the southern coast of Morocco. The archipelago's beaches, climate and important natural attractions are so cool that I want to spend there the biggest part of my life.
If I won either, I would continue working my main reporting job for fun...but I would quit working all the other odd-jobs I do at the station. I stay working for a few years to gain more job experience. All the while I'd pay off bills, renovate the house for my mom (and pay off her bills), get my own condo downtown, do some fun stuff with my friends, etc, etc. I'd invest most of it so I could live off the interest so I wouldn't HAVE to work (even though I probably would so I wouldn't get bored). Also do the charity thing and stuff.
Fast forward two years ahead...I'd quit my job, travel the world, get that place in France I've always dreamed of, and take it from there.
Hmmm, maybe I should go play the lotto! B) B) B)
Here's a answer based on experience:
1. Pay off your debt.
2. Buy a house if you don't already have one.
3. Go on holiday.
Each of these can be critiqued but I would point out:
- personal debt causes stress
- families need a stable home
- holidays are a necessary part of working sustainably
- life is about more than money
In retrospect the one thing I wish I had not done was self-fund one of my businesses. $200k was quickly consumed by a business that was not ultimately able to return the favour. Anyway, that's what I did.
I would also like to win am amount like that , but i would spend them for needs of others, like the most amount of it, because i am happy person and money is just something that restricts me in getting pleasure like coffee in the expensive restaurant and i do not really need it like the last thing in life.
Frankly speaking, i never heard stories about people who won and then spent all the money for short period of time...It was a suprise for me to read your article. I think that it is not to so clever to spend all the money for things you just want to buy, i think it is better to save this money in bank and to create your own business that will give you more money, also it is nice to buy your own immobility and a good car
I would invest these money somehow and live off a small percentage of it. I would travel around the world with my partner, see the places we have always dreamt of. I would also give some sum of money for charity. Having free time (which I would now have a lot of) I would do funny things like learn playing piano, take up windsurfing, visit film festivals in foreign countries, and other fun hobbies that I don't have the time or money for now. I would also buy a new house for my parents. But, of course, at the same time I would work in the spheres which would help me to develop as a personality.
You know I wouldn't spend the whole sum on buying some stupid things. But I would buy for me and my nearest and dearest everything they need. A huge part of this money will be spent on traveling. It is the only possible way to buy new impressions and new positive emotions. My partner and I love traveling, seeing new unusual places, meeting different people. But unfortunately it is too expensive and we cannot allow ourselves to go somewhere every year. We are not extreme lovers, we prefer safe traveling with all conditions and comfort. And it is never cheap. So, we would travel a lot and enjoy our life
