Sence of humor

To certain extent one has the power to make the best out of the worst situation, just by tackling it with a sense of humor. Is sort of a reminder of the old adage that says, "If life throws you lemons, make yourself a lemonade." Along my life's journey I realized that regardless of any given situation 's status , the psychological burden that comes with it is easier to deal with , if is taken with a sense of humor. Living life is a serious business. But if we see things from the bright perspective even when there isn't one, it 'll help you fell less stressed during your sad moments. :woohoo: :woohoo:

Perhaps, approaching our daily life's endeavors with a sense of humor has a lot to do in triggering our endorphins. This makes us feel mentally happier or stable. Whether this is true or not, no one would refute the fact that having a sense of humor at least makes you a more likeable person . Consequently, yielding better results in our every day interaction with other people, such as loved ones, co-workers or a potential employer. All communications between inmates and external channels are facilitated by approved volunteers since inmates do not have access to the internet. :cheer: ;)

It’s very important! Richard Pryor once said, and I paraphrase. that comedy is a way to do with the tragedies or life, and if you look into his childhood, you can see what he's been through. I understand that comedy not only takes one away from the sufferings of the world, but in a strange way, it also brings the futility and absurdities to light so not do people laugh, they laugh uneasily because the stark reality of life just jumped out at them. Life is funny, and it's also not funny, but would you rather laugh or cry''. I don't make light of the world's tragedies, it's why I have to have a sense of humor, because if I had to dwell on the world's many problems, I would lose my mind. :silly:

To me humor is as important to life as salt is to food. WIthout it everything is bland and no other single spice can ever compensate for the absence of salt. Like salt, humor also stings when it is rubbed into your own wounds, but feeling this pain is akin to being alive. Common sense and a sense of humor are the same thing, moving at different speeds. A sense of humor is just common sense, dancing. Sometimes we have to laugh to keep from crying! One of the most therapeutic ways of surviving the stress and trails of life is having a sense of humor.

Everyone face difficulties in life, everyone face troubles. No matter how powerful or rich you are, at one point of time life will let you down, break your heart and steal your crown. In that case a serious or ignorant behavior will only add fuel to the fire. There is only one way to recover from such grievous situations. LAUGHTER. If you can laugh and make others laugh then you can easily bulldoze sad times into jolly ones. You can turn painful situations around through laughter. If you can find humor in anything, even poverty, you can survive it.

Sense of humor is your lifeboat when you are drowning in the vast ocean of miseries and worries. On a scale of one to ten, I'd say a nine. Being able to recognize and appreciate humor is a natural remedy for stress, anxiety, pain and so many other crazy things we experience in life. If we deny ourselves this gift we're actually making life more difficult than it has to be. There are few things in life that I dislike more than being around people that do not have a sense of humor. I think it is a human tendency to shield oneself from the bitter truths of life. This includes the multitude of tragedies which happen every day, every single second around the world, the seeming absolute futility of life and the impending death, and serious problems (whether moral or logical) within one's own way of life and there occurrence within his/her society. :P

Some people wish to try and grapple with reality as it really is, shielding themselves from nothing and making no excuses (some people have no choice, the kind whom the harsh realities of life fall upon directly). This way of living can easily drive you into despair and sorrow. Humor can give you some relief, albeit momentary, from the harsh reality you perceive. This is because humor is basically an attitude of insignificance, of ridicule. It makes lightly of everything - your surroundings, your situation and most importantly yourself. It allows you to "not take things seriously". It is a self-imposed "not taking seriously" of the things you find to be most serious. :) :)

This is a great relief, and during hard times may be the only thing that can give you strength to continue. In short, I think humor is invaluable. (of course, some humor is just entertainment, but this is not the kind of humor I'm referring to here. Humor helps us be happy in the moment. If you are really sad about something that is beyond your control, then anything that makes you laugh helps in distracting you from the negativity and bringing you to a better place. Humor also helps crystallize happy memories. Life is full of sad facts and events. Also, it's typical for people to tend to remember the times they were unhappy more intensely than when they were really happy.

When you're spending some time alone and got nothing to do, it feels amazing to crack yourself up over something you noticed or some quip you came up with. It keeps yourself entertained for hours on end. I've also noticed, if you have a sense of humour, you're naturally bound to be more noticed than if you were say, just a nice guy or someone who's incredibly knowledgeable. It makes you interesting. When you have an obvious disadvantage in everyday society (say, being fat) and hence face a lot of flak and insults, it's always to easier if you know how to laugh it off or even better yet, turn it to your advantage. :cheer: :cheer:

I've always employed this nugget. I freely make fun of my body and my obvious rotundity that mostly people tend to laugh with me and not at me any more. It gives you a sense of power. It feels amazing to be able to make groups of people crack up and roll around with tears streaming from their eyes. It's like you've a spotlight on you and it's your time to shine, baby. But mostly, it's a way of life in itself. It helps you roll with the punches, convert jabs into a bouquet of roses and best of all, elevates you in your own eyes. Neuroscientists today believe that laughter originated as a way for chimpanzees to let others know that something which was perceived as dangerous is now considered safe.
